Oh yeah, it's getting closer every day to one of our fav gigs!
We've been fortunate to have had a personal involvement with this festival from it's very inception; it had a very humble beginning, a really small event, with a small number of loyal and enthusiastic attendees. It's grown a little bit every year, for the last six years, with a huge, huge, boost this year; energy, capitol, and effort. It's exciting to see the changes, the improvements, and if you've been there before, you will be blow away with how much as happened for this year. SoulShine Farm is now a "real" festival facility. There are designated camping areas, RV parking, roads and trails covering a lot of acreage, 3 stages, all of which are really nice, and two of which will be serving to hold regional and national acts.
As in all things, a small group is mostly responsible for bringing these massive changes. These kind of sweeping improvements can't come about without vision, resources, effort and capital. We owe all of those to the following friends-
Chris Walker and Nicole Giorgio, Chris Glover and Randy Bowden Glover, and Jerry Leeman. All of whom have given of themselves to this process of creation: to create something that is going to be very special, and unique in our area.
We're thrilled as a band, to be able to perform there, and hope that we will see a lot of famialiar faces, and even more new ones as well. If this will be you're first year at SoulShine festival, you're in for a remarkable experience.
The lineup of talent this year is amazing; with something for everybody. There are awesome vendors, Asheville Brewing Co.'s beer, a lot of great food, way more things than we can cover in our little blog for sure; you have to check out the website for all the details...
